In Belize there are some awesome ancient ruins you can see. Bring BUG REPELLENT! Costa Maya has some wonderful ruins too. You don't need a LOT of $$$… Just don't waste money on the tourist traps. The closer you are to the port dock..the more expensive the Belize was phenomenal if you are willing to venture out on your own. We heard horror stories about not going beyond the gates but if you arange the right independent trip it will be the best day of your life.
